happy (rainy) friday

this week went by SO fast! and i’ve been enjoying the rain – not only do we need it but it smells so fresh and clean when you walk outside. i love it. i love it especially today because i have the day off, and can sit in my pjs and stare at the rain from my window where i’m nice and dry.

i spent my evenings this week re-reading the entire hunger games trilogy, and can safely say i am even more of a fan than i was before. i get to see the movie in one week exactly, so i’m really really excited (understatement but i’m trying hard not to sound like a creepy 14 year old girl).

this weekend should be pretty relaxed, save for the inevitable madness that saturday night should bring to celebrate st. patrick’s day (really, this holiday should be banned from happening on the weekend – it just makes it so much more dangerous).

some photos from my week:

lazy sunday re-reading the hunger games in bed.

best day at work. ever.

hope you all have a great weekend! stay dry!

the hunger games

is anyone else obsessed with the hunger games trilogy? i spent all day yesterday re-reading the first book (and finished it in 7 hours). i dont know what it is about these books, but i haven’t been this addicted since the harry potter series.

tonight is the world premiere of the film in la and its going to be live streaming on a bunch of websites (E!, MTV, etc.). i am TOTALLY going to hunker down and watch it, which is saying a lot since tonight is also the bachelor finale (although let’s be real, we all know who ben is going to pick…).

i cannot wait for the movie to hit theaters – luis and i already have tickets.

the real question is, are you team peeta or team gale?

happy hunger games!!!!

Happy Friday!

does anyone have fun plans this weekend? i am really looking forward to tonight – i’m driving out to walnut creek after work to meet my mom, and we are going to have dinner and see that scary movie silent house, which looks goooood and creepy. then we are totally going to have a girly sleepover and make a yummy breakfast in the morning.

isn’t my momma beautiful?

it’s also supposed to be almost 70 degrees in SF this weekend, so i can’t wait to wear t-shirts and soak up the vitamin d.

hope you have a great weekend!

Paper + Sugar

did you guys know i have a shop on etsy?

it’s called paper + sugar, and it contains sets of cards and stationary that i’ve designed and hand-made myself. i have been a long time user of etsy, and it was a dream to open my OWN shop last year.

i sold my first set of cards around valentine’s day, and now i have a new spring collection! i used bright colors and sweet, simple designs for these spring cards.

of course i made cards with chickens on them 🙂

i am working on new ideas all the time, including expanding the baking section of my shop. right now i have adorable paper products for bakers, perfect for gifting homemade treats to people you love!

when i met joy the baker last sunday (which was, AMAZING by the way), i gave her these little tags to add to cupcakes or cookies she makes as a gift for someone. i think (hope) she liked them!

i just love making cards and brainstorming new ideas and designs. i think cards and stationary make great gifts, and i am always open to doing custom orders.

hope you’ll take a peak sometime!

Classes at Paper Source

as a nice follow-up to yesterday’s post about journals, i thought i would share the next class i’ll be teaching at my shop! we’ll be making spiral bound notebooks, using the zutter machine. the class is next thursday from 6-8 pm. we’ll not only be binding the journals, but decorating them as well! the class is $30 and comes with all the materials you’ll need – you just need to show up! you can sign up here.

we’ll also be hosting two classes in april: the wedding workshop and a renew, reuse and recreate class in honor of earth day! sign up before the classes fill up!

teaching the classes are so much fun – it would be amazing to see one of your smiling faces there!
